Events in English

Not sure if your German is good enough for long talks or discussions about specific topics? Don’t worry! At most of our events, language doesn’t matter or we can easily switch to English. Like the choir, hiking tours, Friesenrock or the Jazz Jamsessions...

But there are also some events specifically designed for international students. You can find them listed below. Don’t be shy and use the opportunity to get to know the city and other people. We’re looking forward to meeting you!

Practice your German Skills!

You already know some German but you are afraid to speak? Or you just need more practice? No worries – just come by and spend time together with other international students who want to improve their German skills. We are having coffee/ tea and a nice chat in German or we are playing games together. Everybody is welcome!

Games Evening / Tuesdays, 9 pm / KHG-Centre (Mengerstr. 23, 4040 Linz)

We have a great variety of games (board games, interactive games,…) and are looking forward to spend a fun evening together!

Guided Tour through Concentration Camp Mauthausen

Sat., 24 th May 2025 | 1 pm | Meeting Point: Kepler Hall (JKU)

Mauthausen was one of the first massive concentration camp complexes in Nazi Germany, and the last to be liberated by the Allies.

We will have a guided tour through the whole complex and will learn about important historical facts that should never be forgotten. Participants only pay a small contribution of € 5 for the entire day (including bus transfers, tickets and snacks). The fee will be collected in cash on the day of the excursion.

We should be back in Linz at about 5:30 pm, where we will have typical Austrian food and drinks together.
